At Ella’s Kitchen we always, always put little ones at the heart of every decision we make. From choosing the tastiest ingredients, to developing the yummiest recipes that are just the right taste + texture, for little ones. We make it our mission to help take parents + their little ones through the weaning journey!

Take tiny taste buds on an adventure!

If little ones experience lots of different tastes throughout their weaning journey, it can help them to be more curious to try new foods when they’re older. Did you know that the more little ones try lots of different veggies, as well as other foods, the more likely they are to accept them? This is a habit that can last into later childhood and beyond.

That’s why we develop our yummy recipes to include loads of tasty veg, fruit, herbs + spices to tickle tiny taste buds! We pack our recipes full of yummy veggies like our Veggie Lasagne which has 6 different veggies! We also try + use veggies that are a bit more difficult to prepare and add them to our meals to take little ones on a taste adventure, like red cabbage in our Lovely Lamb Roast Dinner.

And we streeetch tiny taste buds by using lots of herbs + spices for a taste twist! Find cumin in our Vegetable + Lentil Bake, cinnamon in our Cottage Pie, lemongrass in our Thai Noodles and paprika in our Chilli Con Carne!

Our products are not only scrummy, they help support little ones development too!

We work with sensory experts + our speech and language therapist to make sure our textures are just right for little ones as they grow. From super smooooth purees, fine and chunky mash + progressively larger chunks, little ones go on a slurpy, chompy chewing journey that offers just the right texture challenge for each stage of their development.

Giving your little one finger foods from 6 months onwards is a fantastic way to help them learn to pick up + hold objects, and co-ordinate their hands and eyes to get food into little mouths to then chew and swallow. For babies, it’s important that finger foods are the right shape and size for every age, as well as super melty so they’re safe but still yummy to eat, giving the opportunity to develop fine motor skills.

We’ve developed our range of finger foods to help little ones play and learn while experiencing lots of deeelicious veggie and fruity flavours. Our Melty Puffs for little ones from 6+ months are perfectly sized to fit into little fists + melt suuuper easily when chomped, even without any tiny teeth!

As they get older, our 7+ months Melty Sticks are a bit longer which is ideal to support them as they begin to use their thumb for holding stick-like objects. As they move through the weaning journey, our Munchy Fingers, Puff Pops, Mini Puffs + Melty Hoops help develop that all-important pincer grip!

Building a healthy relationship with food through the senses

We know how important it is for little one’s to have a healthy relationship with food, and studies have shown that by encouraging them to explore food using their senses they can become more willing to try new foods.

And play is how little one’s learn, so why should it be any different when it comes to food? By engaging their senses, letting them sniff, touch, hear, look + taste, they become more familiar with food and in time, more willing to try. This is especially important when it comes to commonly rejected foods like veggies and fruits.

But don’t worry! Sensory food play doesn’t have to be time consuming, messy or complicated. It can be as suuuper simple, like looking at a shiny red pepper, touching a bobbly broccoli, smelling a zingy fresh lemon or squuuishing some bright green peas!

We have loaaads of handy sensory games + activities to try with your little ones.
